Risa
Intelligence Analyst, Volunteer, and Life Coach in Pensacola, Florida
My name is Karissa, or Risa for short. I’m an Army Reserve officer and an intelligence analyst / criminal investigator in my civilian life. Fitness is an incredibly important part of my life — it allows me to reduce stress, enjoy life, and push my body to its limits and beyond.
I grew up in Philly and was a first generation college student – I’m also the first in my family to graduate college and join the Army. I earned an Army ROTC scholarship midway through college (after lots of hard work and determination) and commissioned / graduated Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in May 2014.
Since then, I have traveled and lived in many places – Washington, D.C., Pensacola, FL to name a few. Currently, I’m residing in Pcola alongside my amazingly supportive significant other Alex — who is currently starting Flight School with the USMC.
My physical health has been something I’ve struggled with greatly in the past – I have weighed 135lbs and 98lbs throughout the last 6 or so years. I have struggled and defeated the demons of body image.
After suffering from personal body image problems, I’m here to help others like me be happy and comfortable in their own skin — guide others in eating healthy (and enjoying the good stuff) — and aid fellow aspiring fitness enthusiasts with work out ideas.
