Kolton Carnes

Grand Forks, North Dakota, United States

Kolton Carnes has been residing in Grand Forks, North Dakota for the last three years while finishing college online via Full Sail University. Before Grand Forks, Kolton grew up in a small rural town in Northeastern Montana. The community, population 211, was made up of one school, a handful of churches, and one gas station. This small community is what helped to foster his love for music and management. Muisc performances were very frequent, if even at all, in this area. After graduation, attending as many concerts as possible became one of Koltons ambittions. As seen in the display picture, Kolton (middle) is with members of Set It Off at the 2013 Vans Warped Tour in Shakopee, MN. Often times drives would be as great as twelve hours to be able to attend a show and experience the music industry first hand. It was this lack of exposure that helped his passion for music to flourish. Kolton discovered Full Sail at the Vans Warped Tour and that is where the journey began.

After initially applying to The School of The Art Institute in Chicago, and recivening acceptance for Photography, Kolton changed his plans for a more business career path. While wanting to work with music, but be behind the scenes, Business Entertainment Management became his calling to do just that. His strong sense of community, and love for music has pushed him to places he never would have imagined. Kolton also shares a love for writing. Documenting daily occurences on his blog has become somewhat of a hobby. In 2011 Kolton was one of 50 senior students in the state of Montana to recieve perfect scores on the Montana University Writing Assesment. With graduation quickly approaching, Kolton has plans to move to Denver, Colorado to pursue his career in the music industry.
