My name is KeAndra L. Boyd. I am currently the assistant director at Method Child Development Center. I love working with young children. I have been working in the early childhood field for 8 years. I have worked with age birth- school age. I am a graduating senior at North Carolina Central University. I graduate December 2014. My major is Family and Consumer Science, and my concentration is Child Development. At NCCU I am a member of two honors societies: Kappa Gamma Epsilon chapter of Kappa Omicron Nu, and Golden Key International Society. I received my NC Early Childhood Credentials 1 & 2 at Needham B. Broughton High School. I am also First Aid and CPR certified. I have two younger sisters age 9 and 3 that I enjoy mentoring, and spending my spare time with. My philosophy of education is making sure I teach the whole child. Children have certain needs that must be met if they are going to grow and learn best. Some of the basic needs are praise, positive guidance, nurture, and basic health needs. I would meet these needs by encouraging positive behavior and also by encouraging a child when they make mistakes or get a question wrong.
