Student and Artist in Guelph
Hi there, I’m Keely! I’m currently a student at the University of Guelph, completing my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences, accompanied by a minor in Nutrition & Nutraceutical Science. I originally began my studies in zoology, but soon after realized my passions were more expansive. So I switched to a more general degree to do what I love most - Explore the world of science!
When I'm not deep into a good book, you can catch me spending time out in nature, or hitting the gym. Wildlife conservation and rehabilitation are what light a fire in me, and I jump at the opportunity to share with the public what I've learned about protecting Canadian species. Jane Goodall is a science figure I have always followed, as I have a profound respect for her work in conservation and research as well as helping the communities she comes into contact with. I would love to be able to facilitate learning through educational opportunities and workshops for people who share the same genuine passion and curiosity. My goals include to one day obtain a field research position studying wildlife, and to work with wildlife rehabilitation centres across western Canada.
Something people don't know about me - I was actually a visual art major in high school and was on track to go to a prestigious art university in Toronto to study Art in the Life Sciences. It was only around the time I graduated I felt that I was being called to study life sciences, not just draw it!
