Keirsten Spade

Welcome to my website. My name is Keirsten Spade and I am a second year Sport Media student attending Ryerson University. I am a student living in Toronto, Ontario hoping to become a part of the Sports broadcasting industry at the end of my university journey. My goal is to keep improving on my practical skills by working behind the scenes and progress my on-air reporting skills.

Starting out in high school, I started gaining my experience on knowing what tools and practical hands on skills sets I am expected to have before attending one of the best programs at Ryerson University for Sports broadcasting. My experience began by taking a class in high school called Communications Technology. I developed and enhanced my knowledge by learning how to properly shoot background footage behind-the scenes, practicing different camera angles (wide shot, medium, shot, close-up shot), editing my own interviews and productions using this editing software called Adobe Premiere, gaining on-air experience by interviewing high school athletes and coaches, attending specialized events happening in my high school and taking every opportunity to be able to create my own production by directing and producing the announcements at my high school

My passion for the love of sports started from a young age and growing up into a sports close-knitted family, the love of sports has turned into more than an everyday love, it's now a part of my soul and heart.

Now, as a university student and already in my second year, My sport media friend Damian and I have created our own hockey podcast together called Back to the Point where we cover the most important and recent headlines happening around the NHL. We provide our insights, opinions and have important discussions on all the recent headlines surrounding every NHL team.
