Started building plastic models of cars ,planes ,ships and made my own models of paper and wood. I liked to take things apart too. Built and Flew model rockets, and built a rocket ship in my parents crawlspace with lights, sleeping quarters and a comuncations I could talk to my neighbor next door with a old tape recorder with wires I ran between the houses at 14 .then had to go to work. Worked at WEA a record warehouse and picked orders for record stores. Then bantam books ,the same thing but with paper back books. Got sick of that. Worked for my dad for a while in his tool and supply business Got a handle on how to run a business from that. Then my friend said you want to be a carpenter?Ok I said here is a carpentry book and you can make $35 an hr in 1978 ,that was big money! I learned how to build houses, apt, buildingsand townhouses. The it all ended in 1980, with Reagan as president. My high school friend said you want to work for my dad/Curt he does remodeling. I said yes and learned the rest of my trades and made his dad like me more than his own son as I worked for Curt almost til he died a few years ago.I did my first job in 1983. Yes they still call me for work. I love my work and still love building things. I don't rip people off and still do work for customers from the 1980's. Just to let you all know, prices have gone up. : )
