Keith sutton

Storyteller in Chicago, IL

Keith Sutton is a Chicago-based writer. He was raised in his parent’s biker bar, scribbling tattoo designs for leather-clad strangers and jumping his BMX bike off the band stage. Sutton’s love for story began in 4th grade when he first sat to pen his to-date unfinished novel, Local Hero Turns Bad—an epic tale of murder and middleschool (which he’d yet to enter) and featuring (as all good novels must) an ax-weilding underdog. From then forward Sutton’s life was consumed by poetry and fanfic and more novels and more fanfic until eventually, he discovered the wonders of screenwriting.

In 2019, Sutton graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelors in Digital Cinema and a concentration in Writing for Film and TV. He aspires to success in three avenues of life: Art, Commerce and Mentorship. In pursuit of Art he writes every day. In pursuit of Commerce he’s determined to get as close to a writer’s room as possible, going so far as to create one for himself as the real deal remains elusive. And as for the last on the list, Mentorship, this one’s on hold until he’s like, really-really old—like thirty-five—and has enough life lessons to annoy the youngins with such wizened, sage advice as, “Writing is rewriting,” or “Writing is thinking, and thinking is hard.”
