Hello my name is Keith Byrne. For the past 2 summers i have taken part in the J1 work and travel program in the USA. In 2014 I went to Atlanta GA to live with my brother for 3 months and work in and Irish bar in the center of Buckhead in Atlanta. I got the job During the FIFA World Cup so it was very busy I ran food and served tables until the World Cup was over then i had enough money saved up to enjoy the rest of my holiday.

In 2015 I went to Pacific Beach San Diego CA.We lived a 5 minute cycle from the beach and were out every day swimming and skating. It was very hard to find work because of the volume of Irish people invading San Diego that summer. Me and 3 of the lads eventually found work on the beach at nights selling lights that you fling into the air with a sling shot and gradually helicopter back to you in the wind. We did this most nights and made just enough money to go out drinking and have just enough money to get a 2.70 meal in McDonalds at the end of the night and to get a few bagels in the morning. We had to keep working until the very end of the holiday but we got to watch the sun set on the beach every single night.
