Keith George, Ed.S., is an Educator and Instructional Technology Consultant and Coach based in Alabama. With over 25 years in education including serving as a classroom teacher, Technology Coach, Digital Literacy/Computer Science Specialist with the Alabama Department of Education and as a district STEM Specialist.

Keith has been integrating technology into his work since entering the classroom as a Social Studies and Computer Technology teacher. In 2008, after 12 years as a teacher and school technology coach, he joined the Alabama State Department of Education’s (ALSDE) Educational Technology section working primarily with the Alabama Learning Exchange (ALEX) program. During this time, the ALEX website was recognized multiple times as a Digital Education Achievement Award winner. In 2016, Keith moved to the Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative (AMSTI), the ALSDE’s STEM initiative. While with the AMSTI team, Keith served on the committee that created the 2018 Alabama Digital LIteracy and Computer Science (DLCS) Course of Study. He also led a team that developed both student-facing curriculum and teacher professional learning content to implement the DLCS Course of Study statewide. While with AMSTI, Keith headed up the team that submitted and was awarded a Google Computer Science grant. In 2019, Keith became the District STEM Specialist for Madison County Schools. He developed and led an effort to increase the number of Google certified educators in the district. This effort resulted in over 200 teachers earning certification.

Keith is a Google Certified Trainer, Code.org CS Fundamentals Facilitator, a Microsoft Certified Educator, a Common Sense Media Certified Educator and Ambassador, an Ozobot Certified Educator, a Symbaloo PD Pro and a Participate Connected Educator and Mentor. He has presented at a variety of National, Regional, and State Conferences, including the Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee Educational Technology Conferences, the Alabama State Department of Education’s MEGA Conference, and the national Next Steps Institutes STEM Conference. Keith is a member of ISTE, CSTA, and ALET.

Keith has provided training, coaching, and presentations related to STEM, Digital Literacy, and Computer Science on behalf of the National Math and Science Initiative, Powerful Learning Practice Network/Guam Department of Education, A+ College Ready, Ozobot .
