An entrepreneur with leadership experience across diverse sectors, Keith Krach was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the new Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment on June 20, 2019. In this role as the US' top economic diplomat, Keith Krach promises to enhance economic growth and energy security as well as enact measures to improve the health of the planet. To do so, Krach will focus on strengthening partnerships with the country's allies and leveraging private sector innovation and resources. He also seeks to enhance national security and global peace.

Prior to this appointment, Krach was the president, CEO, and chairman of the board of DocuSign. He joined the company in 2009 and, over the course of 10 years, facilitated its growth into the global leader in digital transaction management solutions. Under his leadership, DocuSign had 400 million users in 188 countries. Krach also established the DocuSign Global Trust Network and DocuSign IMPACT Foundation. He earned several awards during his time with the company, including the 2016 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the 2015 Bay Area's Most Admired CEO Award. Moreover, DocuSign was listed as No. 3 on the Forbes list of the World's Best 100 Cloud Companies.

Krach previously held executive leadership positions at Ariba and Rasna Corporation, both of which he co-founded. As CEO of Ariba, he built the world’s largest B2B e-commerce network. Under his leadership as COO, Rasna earned recognition as the Inc. 5000 third fastest-growing company in the US before it was sold to Parametric Technology for $500 million. Krach's first executive position was with General Motors, where he became the corporation’s youngest vice president at just 26 years old.

Krach has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. In 2018, he was awarded an honorary doctorate in industrial engineering from Purdue, where he also served as chairman of the university’s board of trustees from 2007 to 2013.
