Keith Loring

Closely involved in San Francisco’s public health community, Keith Loring, MD, maintains a private emergency medicine practice and has privileges at the California Pacific Medical Center. Knowledgeable about end-of-life care issues, he also focuses on assisting patients experiencing psychiatric crises. Licensed through the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Keith Loring, MD, maintains active involvement in the San Francisco Medical Society and the California Medical Association.

Dr. Loring earned his Doctor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and also completed a Master of Public Health at the same institution’s School of Hygiene and Public Health. He joined CEP America in 1998 where he became a Senior Partner in 2008 and served as an attending emergency physician at St. Mary's Medical Center and St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco for nearly one and a half decades.

From 2002 to 2006, Keith Loring, MD, held a role as Medical Director at CEP America, with responsibilities for supervising and leading the two hospitals’ emergency department medical practices. He oversaw recruiting and retention efforts for emergency physicians and physician assistants, and guided quality assurance functions within the group. As a Department Chair, Dr. Keith Loring spearheaded physicians’ credentialing efforts and worked collaboratively with hospital administration to improve processes and ensure that resource utilization met the hospital’s overall strategic planning needs.

Dr. Loring had nearly fifteen years of experience teaching emergency medicine and trauma care at San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. An active community member, Keith Loring, MD, supports the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, the San Francisco Food Bank, The St. Mary's Medical Foundation, The San Francsico General Foundation, and the scientific efforts of the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
