I'm a reporter at Newsday in New York covering municipal government.

Previously, I worked at The Record in New Jersey covering general assignment and mayhem. Before that, I was at the New York Daily News covering crime.

I also worked at newspapers in Connecticut, Texas and Oregon, where I wrote about health care, local government and sports. And, yes, I like sports, especially baseball.

I'm fluent in Spanish. I graduated from Queens College and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

I'm a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and a board member of the New York Chapter.
