Kelley Walters, PhD

Dr. Kelley Walters has over 20 years of educational experience, ranging from classroom teaching to consulting and administration. She has vast experience in online education, including faculty training, course development, instructional supervision, online teaching, and dissertation advising. Kelley has served as a Dean, Director of Curriculum, Program Director, Lead Research Faculty, and Associate Professor for Academic Program Support. Kelley is also an Educational Consultant and Editor for the eLearning Institute.

Kelley has written numerous articles and chapters, such as “Evaluation of student outcomes by course duration in online higher education, “Mandatory online discussions: The effect of a postgraduate policy on communication between faculty members and student learners,” “Want to Teach Online? Seven Things You Should Know,” “Distance Learning Course Activities: Best Practices for Asynchronous Delivery of Online Course Content,” and “A Tale of Two Courses: A Case Study of Transition from a Traditional to an Online Course.” She is currently working on several research projects, including an analysis of instructional approaches in the online classroom and retention strategies and initiatives.

In addition to her publications, Kelley has done hundreds of presentations on literacy, online learning, and more. She was awarded Teacher of Honor by Kappa Delta Pi and The Presidential Award of Faculty Excellence at Walden University. Her role as an active practitioner and educational leader has provided her with a strong foundation in a variety of higher education settings.
