In 2009, I founded WorldPlay, Inc. a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote cultural awareness and understanding in children and youth by providing culturally rich educational opportunities that encourage discovery of the abundant and vibrant cultures of the world. We offer after-school, holiday break and summer camp programs where students learn about the vast cultures of the world. Students learn a country's history, music, art, favorite past times, food, language, and more. I have over ten years of experience as an educator and have created and facilitated several after-school programs, working as an elementary school teacher for both the Washington, DC and New York City Public School Systems. I have written for a number of publications including Institutional Investor and Black Enterprise Magazine. Additionally, I have raised over $2 million for a variety of nonprofit organizations.

I hold a MPA in Nonprofit Management from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School for Public and International Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing also from the University of Pittsburgh.

I am a daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend. I seizing the moment and dancing “like no one is watching”. We are only here once, if we’re lucky, so don’t take it for granted. Do no harm and try to leave this place better than you found it.
