Kellie Duncan

Student in Knoxville, Tennessee

Kellie Duncan, from Falls Church, VA, is a recent graduate from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, earning a degree in Supply Chain Management in the College of Business with a Dual Concentration in Business Analytics. She also enjoyed being a part of the saxophone section in The Pride of the Southland Marching band during the football seasons of 2011-2014.

She interned at C.H Robinson, a one of the world's largest third party logistics (3PL) providers, during the summer of 2015. There she got a chance to see many sides of the business, talking to customers, and helping the business grow. At C.H. Robinson, she used Navisphere, the computer system used by CH Robinson, to build orders, schedule pickup and delivery appointments with customers, and track orders. She also participated in a company wide internship group project with other interns from the US and Mexico researching for ways to improve operations and efficiency, presenting our idea to several top executives at the company.

While living the majority of her life just outside of Washington, D.C., she had the opportunity to intern two summers on Capitol Hill for Congressman John J. Duncan Jr., who represents the 2nd Congressional District of Tennessee. During her time in Congressman Duncan’s office, she enjoyed meeting constituents from the 2nd district and learned to guide visitors on tours of the Capitol. She also recorded constituent opinions on legislation, and attended Congressional committee hearings on subjects of importance to Tennessee.

Duncan has traveled to many places, including Italy and Greece. Through her trips, she has learned a lot about differnt cultures and to appreciate other traditions. She plans to visit other states and countries in the future when she gets the chance.
