Kellogg Garden Products

Since 1925, gardeners have been turning to Kellogg Garden Products for assistance in growing a thriving, beautiful vegetable or flower garden. Based in Ontario and Carson, California, Kellogg Garden Products has served as an engaged and productive member of the local community that has been active with the Plant With Purpose and Gardening in Schools program. Kellogg Garden Products also serves as a member of the California Association of Nursery and Garden Centers, US Composting Council, and Green Industry Council.

As the founder of Kellogg Garden Products, H. Clay Kellogg noticed a rich, blackish sediment in a dry Santa Ana riverbed during his days as a surveyor. Scooping up some of the black soil, he applied it to an orange tree in the front of his home and was surprised to find that it soon produced quadruple the number of oranges as compared to those in the rest of his orchard. Analysis of the soil showed that it was rich in nitrogen and humus. H. Clay Kellogg marketed the new compound as Nitrohumus. Before long, Kellogg Garden Products was born.

Kellogg Garden Products' reputation with gardeners arose from Amend, one of the company's most respected products. Amend is a favorite of gardeners seeking to loosen up hard and compacted clay soils. The mix of gypsum, composted materials, potassium, and organic plant food helps plants to put down strong and reliable roots in order to ward off disease.
