Kelly Conrad

Hi everyone! My names Kelly and I’m currently a student pursuing a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Political Science. Post graduations I hope to gain professional experience and find where my niche lies in the field. My dream job as of now would be planning music festivals and maybe one day opening my own event planning company.

I am passionate about a wide range of interest however; I am most enthusiastic about music. Music is my life. It’s a rare sighting to ever spot me without my iPod. I am always looking for new artists to discover and trying to keep up with my favorites. My favorite pastime is attending concerts. I love the whole atmosphere of a concert; the mood created by the music, the fantastic lightshow, and the high energy of the crowd. The highlight of my year is attending Lollapalooza, a primarily indie/alternative music festival in Chicago.

I am also a huge advocate for healthy living. I find nutrition fascinating and often research it for fun in my spare time. It truly amazes me what food can do for you and how each food affects the body differently. Going along with healthy living, I love working out. I run almost every day and hope to train for a marathon in the near future.

Previously, I interned at GSA Public Relations in South Korea. My main job here was to research the clients target audiences and brainstorm innovative new ideas to improve the clients overall image to these audiences. I am currently involved in several organizations on campus such as Lambda Pi Eta the National Communication Honors Fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity, P.R.S.S.A., and C.O.M.M. Club. This coming fall I will be interning at Party Palace Wedding Events in Bloomington, Normal. I hope to gain professional experience in planning and executing weddings.
