Kelly (Hewitt) King

Kelly Hewitt is Executive Vice President of Focusing Philanthropy, a Los Angeles based nonprofit that connects generous donors and corporations with smaller, high-impact programs in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to joining Focusing Philanthropy in spring 2013, Kelly was a member of the Scripps College Academy (SCA) team for eight years, including five as Director. Under her leadership the SCA model was refined and its reach expanded, while providing for greater support and sustainability. SCA’s impacts under Kelly's leadership were recognized at a special White House ceremony by First Lady Michelle Obama in 2010. Kelly helps to mentor and support education nonprofit leaders through the City Scholars Foundation and is an active member of many regional and national education and college access networks.
