Kelly Hudson coauthored the memoir anthology, Shaking The Tree. In her gritty piece, Confidence Cape, she shares an intimate experience with her homeless heroin addicted parents. Her story was selected to be acted out in the San Diego Memoir Showcase in 2017.

Kelly is working on her first memoir, The Crystal Ship. An uplifting coming of age story about a resilient girl who grew up selling crystals with her parents in the parking lots of Grateful Dead shows across the country. How did a drug dealer's daughter end up a banker? A Glass Castle adventure story with a Breaking Bad Dad. Packed full of fascinating and unusual events, her memoir candidly portrays how to turn growing up in chaos into a competitive advantage.
Kelly has completed Marni Freedman's Memoir Writing Certificate Program and is a past board member of the San Diego Memoir Writers Association.
Kelly is the Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer at one of the nation's largest credit unions where she built the compliance department from the ground up. She holds her MBA degree from Santa Clara University and a BS degree in Accounting and Finance from San Jose State University. She is a tenacious, goal oriented, solutions driven executive with over 20 years of experience leading compliance and audit functions for credit unions. She is an energetic leader adept in crisis management, employee development and team building. She holds several professional designations including a CIA, NCCO and CUCE.
Kelly is a creative entrepreneur who successfully owned and operated Scrap Diva Retreats for the past six years where she taught colorful mixed media, vision-boarding and art journaling classes. She recently closed the business to focus on writing her memoir.
She believes in the power of intention and is a wicked ass manifestor. She lives in San Diego with her husband David and her cute cat, Lilly.
