I love news reporting. I am passionate about finding and telling the story. I remember reading about a man who went to see Shen Yun Performing Arts when it toured to his town. The man started painting since he saw the performance. His creative side was awakened. At the ripe ole age of retirement, he felt that he had been reborn. His feeling of being awakened and ready to embrace the beauty in the world through his new found love of painting really touched me. But what really struck me is when this audience member said that he was most impressed with the Shen Yun performer's heart. He could tell that there was something greater than money and greater than "a job," pulling these artists together to create one amazing out-of-this-world performance.

This story reminds me of why I write, why I report, and why I spend every second reading and researching the news. I am passionate about telling stories and I can completely forget myself and delve into researching, interviewing, writing, and telling a news story.

Nearly everything and everyone inspires me. I'll never pass up an interview. I hope my stories can inspire others.

Writing struck me at a young age. My school teachers said that I was good at writing. I won writing and drawing contest frequently in primary school. For fun, I would make my own magazines and investigate the outside world with a pencil and notebook. I wrote songs about the people around me.

During high school, I developed an intentse interest in the news and newspapers--clipping and saving news stories in designated shoe boxes. By the college years, I spent a lot of time on poetry and wrote poems about the people around me.

During college I leaned toward education and journalisim, but I cut my college years short to be a stay at home mom. As a stay at home mom, I've volunteered my time and worked on building a foundation in news writing, journalisim, and developed a beat in education reporting. I've found inspiration in women like Diane Rehm, http://thedianerehmshow.org, of the Diane Rehm show with NPR.
