Kelly Lamb

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

I am a Toronto-based freelance editor and writer with almost 20 years in the world of publishing and communications. I am an experienced and reliable substantive editor, stylistic editor, and copyeditor, a confident writer and rewriter, as well as a thorough researcher and proofreader.

I’m an Advanced Professional Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP), the recipient of Ryerson University’s Marsh Jeanneret Memorial Award in 2008 for excellence in editing, and a former columnist for a national weekly. My writing background coupled with my editing experience makes me a diplomatic editor who is at ease with writers.

My most recent work includes full edits of manuscripts, fiction and non-fiction, as well as academic and corporate documents. I love the variety of my work.

In addition to my editing experience, I was an entertainment reporter and writer with TV Guide in Toronto and Los Angeles for several years. I also held a project management position at a communications company in London, UK, where my clients included British Telecom (BT). Both of these positions required writing for various audiences while using consistent and plain language.

I am very comfortable working with very tight deadlines and always deal with clients and subjects in a professional manner.

For the past eight years, I have been a proud volunteer with Assaulted Women’s Helpline (awhl.org). I strongly believe in social justice and support for not-for-profit organizations.

Whether it’s on screen or on paper, a full manuscript or a short script, you can count on me to deliver a clean document on deadline and on budget. Please contact me at [email protected] to discuss your editing or writing requirements.
