I love this photo! It’s not the most flattering but it is joyful and symbolic. This is a photo of me climbing. I’m half way up the Manitou Incline in Colorado. It’s a mile high hike up an incline, through rocky, steep and sometimes challenging terrain up the side of a mountain.

This adventure is a lot like my walk with Jesus, it’s a little grueling, often mundane, requires discipline, and most importantly an unswerving commitment to not quit. At one point I was pretty certain I reached the summit, only to find it was a “false” summit…I was temporarily disillusioned… who hasn’t hit that bump in the road…eh?

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

It was a slow and steady journey. It required many resting breaks, but once we made it to the top the view was breathtaking! There were high-fives and hugs from sojourners that made it ahead. They knew what it took to make the journey and we celebrated. I forgot about the pain of the expedition and just marveled in the majesty!

So walk with me, rest with me….looking forward to seeing ya at the summit!
