Kelly Tang

Kelly C. Tang is a graduate student currently pursuing a Master of Philosophy in Modern Chinese Studies at the University of Oxford, St. Antony’s College. She received a Bachelor of Arts in art history (major) and Asian American studies (minor) from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

Kelly’s undergraduate thesis, “Sites of Memory-Landscape: Zhan Wang’s Stainless Steel Rocks” explored the contemporary Chinese sculptor’s artwork within the frameworks of site-specific artistic paradigms and Chinese garden history. The thesis was awarded the Eugene Wurzel Award for Scholastic Excellence. Dr. Hui-Shu Lee advised the project.

She has previously held a J. Paul Getty Multicultural Internship at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Wallis Annenberg Photography department working closely with the museum’s curators and collections.

Her most recent teaching experience was during her final year at UCLA in which she developed and facilitated an undergraduate seminar on museums in Los Angeles. Dr. Meredith Cohen supervised the course.
