Full of doubt and full of faith, trying to make sense of it all through words. My book, The Art of Praying Upside Down, is the junction of all my passions — faith, art and writing. For over two decades, I’ve built a career in marketing and advertising, working as a graphic designer, art director, creative director, copywriter and consultant. A regular monthly contributor to Internet Café Devotions, I’ve also been published in Kyria Magazine (now Today’s Christian Woman), and in secular publications such as Sasee and Inside Indiana Business. My awards include first place in the Inspirational category of the Writer’s Digest Annual Competition (2013). My design work has been included in three Rockport Publishing design anthologies (Best of Business Card Design 4, Letterhead and Logo Design 4, and Color: Building Great Designs with Color) and in PRINT Magazine’s Design Annual, and I’ve received awards from the NAHB, Public Relations Society of America and Art Directors Club of Indiana.
When I’m not writing, I have lunch with friends, coffee with my iPad, and spend any otherwise-unscheduled evenings on the couch with my husband of 22 years. With three kids (19, 17 and 12) and a full-time graphic design business, those evenings don’t come as often as I’d like. I am always a little frazzled, always reading, always watching, always waiting to see what I can discover of our mighty God in this magnificent, busy, confusing, contradictory, glorious, crazy world.
