Kelly Poquiz Burke

Ever since I was a little girl, I've always wanted to build things. I studied industrial design and marketing in college, and found advertising to be a perfect blend of these two disciplines.

In 2013, I left my agency job in Chicago to be closer to my family in Dallas. Though it was a difficult decision to move, it was a blessing to have the nearby support of my family.

This was especially true during a two-year recovery from consecutive hip surgeries. In my mid-twenties, I had the arduous task of learning how to walk again, not only once, but twice.

Through that adversity I found inner strength, resilience, and optimism. I learned to trust my abilities and never take anything for granted.

I try my best to chase my passions whole-heartedly, which is why I was lucky to discover a career building brands. Currently, I have the privilege of leading a team of incredibly talented designers. In addition to my full-time job, I am also pursuing an MBA at the University of Texas McCombs School of Business as part of the class of 2018.
