After more than a decade as a reporter and editor, I discovered my love of science journalism while covering the biotech beat for a weekly paper in San Diego. I later held roles leading content development and strategy for science-focused communications agencies.

But today, I focus on what I find most rewarding: helping mission-driven scientific institutes share their discoveries with the world. I can attest there will never be a shortage of incredible stories to tell.

I hold an M.A. in science writing from Johns Hopkins University and B.A. degrees in journalism and history from Marquette University. In addition to serving as the 2025 president of the San Diego Association of Science Writers, I'm an active member of the National Association of Science Writers and the San Diego Press Club. I enjoy mentoring emerging science communicators and I'm always interested in finding ways to collaborate on new projects.
