In the summer of 2013 I left the corporate world behind to invest time in my family. Over the last year, my ridiculous obsession with photograpy has grown into more professional ventures including various photography projects and launching a shop to sell photography and other artwork on Etsy! I also work with Abbey Landscape & Design Concepts, a family business started by my parents in 1972. I support various marketing, social media and communications initiatives while attempting to learn about plants, flowers, soil and landscape design.
In July 2011 I joined Aon, a global leader in risk, reinsurance and human resources. I came on board with the campus recruiting team after making the leap into the corporate world from academia. I then moved teams within talent acquisition to support Aon Hewitt HR outsourcing from a sourcing perspective. I enjoyed meeting new people and learning about their career path and how a position at Aon might be the right next step in their journey.
Before Aon, I was with the Kellogg School of Management, Executive MBA program for nine years where I wore many different hats while developing my communications and marketing skills. I loved leading initiatives to improve communications that supported and enhanced the student and alumni community.
I have a relentless desire to understand the big picture while executing on the details. I adopted a motto from Charles Eames "Details are not details, they are the product" - while Charles was talking furniture design, I translated the essence of the statement to my experience. Small things, that are seemingly unimportant, can have big impact. Like, a short casual conversation in line at a coffee shop can lead to a life changing job opportunity.
In my personal life - I have an awesome husband who plays guitar and brews beer and an insanely adorable daughter, and another on the way.
