Kelly Virgin

I'm entering my 7th year teaching, and like many teachers, I've taught an array of courses in my area - survey of literature, world literature, British literature, writing workshop, and public speaking, as well as an array of levels - 9th through 12th and lower level through advanced. I love the opportunity to teach new courses because I love experimenting in my classroom and trying out new lessons/approaches with different students. Through my education with PAWLP, I've learned to take an inquiry approach to my teaching in order to learn from the experimenting. Over the past two years I have completely rehabbed my approach to independent reading and my use of writing workshop in the classroom. Student feedback tells me the changes I've instated have been successful, but I'm still looking for new ways to tweak these areas.
