Throughout the 18 years of my life, I have dreamt to be so many different and unrelated things: a veterinarian, engineer, racecar driver, ballerina, be part of the U.S. Coast Guard, an artist, writer, reporter, an optometrist, and a wedding planner. The sky is my limit, and no matter what I find myself doing 10 years from now, I know that I will be doing something I have a passion for. I am a firm believer that I can do anything if I put my heart in it.
I love to learn random facts about random things, I love to play any sport and win, and my things-to-do-before-I-die list includes things from sky-diving, to seeing the northern lights, to cliffjumping off some beautiful waterfall in Hawaii. But I especially love to listen to people. I once read an article that said that to really listen to someone, you have no thoughts of your own in your head. You are not thinking about you are going to say next; Instead, you are completely absorbed into what the person is saying. I love meeting new people, but what I love even more is to get beneath small talk and listen to their story (really listen).
Today, I'm on a mission to be more involved with the people around me, and to learn how to be a better leader. It is time to make new friends, and to lead them to a better tomorrow, a happy tomorrow.
