Kelsey James

Kelsey James is a senior at Goshen College in Goshen, Ind. She is pursuing a degree in broadcasting with an American Sign Language minor anticipating graduation in May of 2013.
She is the student station manager at the college's radio station, WGCS-FM 91.1 the Globe, as well as the morning show host and producer of the Breakfast Blend. The Breakfast Blend runs Monday through Friday 6-9am and incorporates daily updates on the Americana and AAA music scene with the Music Buzz, a daily Goshen College sports update, and a weekly concert calendar. Throughout the morning show, Morris takes requests, is active on Facebook and Twitter, and keeps listeners informed of weather for their daily commute. Morris is a part of the news team at the station, producing a 2-minute news update twice a week.
Not only does James work for the radio station but she is very involved with the school's TV news program, The Correspondent. This is her fourth year anchoring and reporting for the bi-weekly program. James also held the assistant news director position her junior year.
Throughout her college career she has gained valuable experience through internships in the industry. James worked as the intern for WFMS- FM 95.5, "The Country Station" of Indianapolis. She assisted the morning show hosts, Jim, Deb and Kevin; helped with live remotes; and set up for the State Fair's free stage concert series. She has interned at the NBC television affiliate, WNDU-Channel 16, in South Bend, Ind. She served as the assistant to the Saturday morning live reporter, with editing footage and writing scripts.
James possesses a deep passion for radio and the music industry. She has garnered multiple awards and nominations from the national and state levels; including first place for On-Air Personality from the Broadcast Educators Association; first place for Best Station Promotional Event from the Intercollegiate Broadcast Systems; and first place for Radio On-Air Personality from the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters. She is a four-year scholarship softball player and a three-year captain.
