Riann Kempt

I am a student at Algonquin College, attending Business Management Entrepreneurship, post-graduation I will continue to build my skills within Event Management. The last five years have been filled with visionary and passion of running my own business; the next five years will be filled with dedication and perseverance while making these goals come true.

I have experience within the promotion industry, executing interactive skills and confidence to represent brands such as Volkswagen, Gatorade and Telus. My technology experience has excelled by up keeping a website, Twitter page and Instagram for a non-for-profit organization in the Ottawa Region.

I am a strong listener, who loves to collaborate. I believe the best ideas come from two minds working as one. Finding the ying to your yang is crucial when building an idea or finalizing project.

Activities and hobbies of mine include, photography my skills have grown from being in the Photography Club and on the Yearbook committee in 2011 to 2012 at Nicholson Catholic College. My skills will continue to evolve as the historian for Xi Delta Theta Sorority 2014-2015. Which brings me to my next point of involvement that has helped shaped my into a well-rounded person. I am a sister of Xi Delta Theta our values are excellence, determination and trust eternal are exuded through our pillars and monthly activities doing philanthropic work, a social aspect of networking within the Ottawa region and sisterhood events.

In the past, I have had multiple retail jobs that gave me insight on interacting with the end consumer. There I realized things that would potentially work for my Small to Medium Enterprise. I gained a love for customer service and fulfilling a need for the customer. Recently working to promote other businesses, also gave me marketing skills and ideas.

This summer I had the opportunity to work in weddings, with this serving position I really fell in love with the décor, catering and photography aspect of the whole event. It was very assuring that event management is truly for me.

Post-graduation I will be taking Event Management at Algonquin College or finding an internship/job position to expand my knowledge of the wonderful world of weddings.
