Ken Wessel

An accomplished executive now residing in Vero Beach, Florida, Ken Wessel is the former chief executive of Wessel Fragrances Inc., a company he founded in 1988 to manufacture and distribute fragrances across the country. By working with a strong team of marketers, leveraging proprietary technology, and targeting clients in the home care and beauty care sectors, Ken Wessel grew the company to $20.5 million in sales in 2007 before selling it to Japanese company Takasago International Corp. in 2008.
Besides his work at Wessel Fragrances Inc., Mr. Wessel was involved in advancing the North American fragrance industry through his memberships in industry associations. He served on the boards of several organizations for more than three decades, and was also the president of Fragrance Materials Association and vice chairman of the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM).
In recognition of his life’s work as a leader and supporter of the fragrance industry, Ken Wessel was awarded the Eric Bruell Distinguished Service Award in 2007. He also received a recognition plaque from RIFM in honor of his 33 years as a board member. Mr. Wessel now spends much of his time in various philanthropic pursuits.
