Associate Professor of Mathematics and Chair of Mathematics in Salt Lake City, Utah
I am Chair and Associate Professor of Mathematics at Westminster College located on stolen Eastern Shoshone, Ute, and Goshute land (so-called Salt Lake City). I follow and value evidence-based teaching practices and am passionate about social justice in mathematics. My primary research interests are in knot theory, topology, the theory of mechanical games such as Lights Out!, data analysis, and scholarship on teaching & learning.
I'm also a poet; my work was featured in Gulf Coast, The Iowa Review, The Missouri Review, and Pleiades, among others. I am the recipient of scholarships to the Antioch Writers’ Workshop and Lambda Literary Writers' Retreat and winner of the Utah Pride Center’s Poetry and Prose Contest.
