I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Westminster College located in occupied Shoshone, Ute, Paiute, and Goshute territories (so-called Salt Lake City). I follow and value evidence-based teaching practices and am passionate about social justice in mathematics. My research interests are in knot theory, topology, the theory of mechanical games such as Lights Out!, data analysis, and the scholarship on teaching & learning.

I'm also a poet; my work is forthcoming in The Iowa Review and was featured in Gulf Coast, the Missouri Review, and Pleiades, among others. I am the recipient of scholarships to the Antioch Writers’ Workshop and Lambda Literary Writers' Retreat and winner of the Utah Pride Center’s Poetry and Prose Contest.
