Enrepreneurship is a lot like Jazz.

For me, the best Jazz seems to happen when you "let go" just enough to respond to the other musicians, the song, and even the crowd in a way that produces an expression that's entirely new, one that's never been heard before. Something about the mixture of elements prompts a completely original idea.

Running a lean startup or collaborating in an agile development environment is very similar. Startups tend to lose their edge when they get stuck on a particular method, approach, idea, even technology. I find that every pitch, every meeting, every working session requires the same level of adaptablity that is expected in jazz music and jazz improvisation.
