Ken Cochran

Born and raised in Griffin, GA. Finished high school there, took some courses at Southern Tech Inst & GA Tech, became party chief of land survey crew, got drafted in 66, finished Engineer OCS in 67, sent to Panama Canal Zone for 2 yrs as company commander & Ass't Brigade S4, applied for and finished helicopter fight sch in 70, flew Hueys in Nam for a year, RIF'd in 75 (the war was over) as a Captain, returned to college for civil engr deg in 77. I was a company commander in the Wash St Army Nat Gd and was promoted to Major in 80. Worked overseas in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Micronesia for over ten yrs. Returned to US in 97 to Arizona. Now working for Dept of Vet Affairs in Phoenix. Published 'Adventures in Yap' in 1994, 'Adventures in Nam' in 2011, 'Adventures in Wit' in 2012, and currently working on 'Adventures in the Burning Sands'. My nom de plume is "Clyman Otis". Have two sons, 40 & 35, and two daughters 16 & 12. I love to read, with a self-imposed goal of reading 10,000 books. At 7500 now, and read about 15 books a month. I love to watch movies. I have all my pre-war and post-war Lionel trains that are still in original boxes and still operate. I was a member of the Ft Belvoir Pistol Team and the Wash State Army Nat Gd Pistol Team and won a national championship in 1975. I became a member of MENSA in 1993. While in Nam, I earned a Bronze Star, 22 Air Medals, an Army Commendation Medal, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. While working overseas I traveled extensively and have been to 75 countries.
