Kendra Silver, M.S., LPC
Windsor, Colorado
I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern Colorado in Sociology and my Master's of Science in Human Services specializing in Marital, Couple, Family Counseling/Therapy in 2010 from Capella University. I have experience working in an inpatient adolescent unit working with teens and their families. For the past two and half years I have been in private practice working with clients ranging from five years and up.
My passion is working with teens and their families as they work through what can seem like the most difficult times. While adolescence can be painful, challenging and confusing - there are ways to cope with these struggles. I offer an accepting environment to teach skills utilizing evidence based DBT techniques which help manage the emotional crisis teens face. I also work with parents to learn more effective communication skills and how to best support and guide their children.
Additionally, I have both personal and professional experience and love working with children as well as adults with ADHD. Individuals who have ADHD often struggle with self esteem, depression, anxiety and organizational challenges. In therapy we work with the individual as well as the family teaching skills that will best support the child or adult to be successful. I will also work with the schools to provide input and support for the child to have a positive learning experience.
Families who are recovering from divorce or blending a new family together after a divorce is another are of I have in depth personal and professional experience in. I utilize a solution focused mode of therapy, drawing from each member's existing strengths and resources to create new ways of communicating, supporting and interacting with each other.
I also enjoy working with individuals of all ages as they may be going through personal struggles with depression, anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, stress, current or past traumas or abuse. In addition to seeing clients in our private practice, I am a Licensed Behavioral Health Specialist at Medical Center of the Rockies.
It is my belief that we all have strengths that sometimes get muddled when we face struggles in our lives. Utilizing evidence based treatments; I strive to meet my clients where they are at providing them the tools necessary to find the peace and joy they desire to live a life they want.
