Senior Software Engineer and Software Architecture in Dublin, Ireland
I'm a Senior Software Engineer specialising in the space where software, connected devices and products meet.
I've spent much of my career developing enterprise-level software across PHP, JavaScript and mobile platforms, and my recent work at Tramex Meters has given me extensive hands-on experience integrating software with professional measurement instruments through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
My role has gone beyond implementing individual features. I've worked on the underlying architecture used to represent different device types, device-specific measurement processing, Bluetooth communication and handling differences between hardware and firmware versions. I've also worked extensively on improving an established codebase through refactoring, separation of concerns, automated testing, coding standards and improved testability.
I particularly enjoy problems where there isn't a clean boundary between disciplines — understanding how a physical device behaves, how it communicates, how that behaviour should be represented in software, and ultimately how the resulting product should work for its users.
My technical background includes PHP, JavaScript, Cordova, Flutter, Bluetooth/BLE and automated testing.
I'm now particularly interested in opportunities where I can combine my engineering experience with technical leadership, architecture, systems integration and product thinking — helping teams make good technical decisions while keeping sight of the product they're building
