Ken Kiser Custom Homes | Oak Island is a self proclaimed custom and luxury home builder located in at 8501 E Oak Island Dr, Oak Island, NC 28465. Claiming to have been in business for over 40 years they try to pass the idea that they seek 100% customer satisfaction. Unfortunately that hasn't been the case for us and others who have had the displeasure of losing their money to these scammers.

Ken used to build good homes but in recent years it seems that the quality has diminished considerably. Ken Kiser Custom Homes | Oak Island Custom Homes, began dismissing our concerns over the building materials and every time there was an issue - it wasn't resolved. Ordered certain materials and upgraded several amenities before leaving for vacation. Upon returning from vacation the upgrades weren't installed, yet we were charged! After airing the concerns Bob Zweig came by and was shown the many items that needed to be addressed. Ken assured us that it would be fixed after making another payment, which we did. When speaking to sub-contractors I was told that they had not installed the upgrades and were also told not to tell the homeowner.

Bob Zweig, with his southern accent, was charming and attentive to our needs up until we handed him a check and then became increasingly absent and unavailable. Bob is a scam artist and has repeatedly lied and should be locked up. Bob is worse than a used car salesman. A manipulator and con artist that can't be trusted. Other customers and sub-contractors expressed concerns and are uncomfortable working for Bob knowing hes blatantly lying to people. During construction, many sub-contractors had to be replaced. Questioning why they left, they said they were lied to and don't want to work for anyone who's untrustworthy. Other customers are all saying the same thing to the point that unsolicited phone calls sharing their negative experiences are happening. Bob Zweig is a liar, con artist and, should not be in business.

Doing business like this is deplorable and dishonest, unfortunately we couldn't monitor all the construction but I'm sure there are other things that will eventually reveal itself. They overcharge, do shoddy work and ultimately took my money and ran.

Ken Kiser and Bob Zweig are disgusting and dishonorable. Don't be another victim.
