Ken Murczek began his career as a volleyball coach at the club level, coaching teams at Sunwest Volleyball Club in California and, later, Gelterkinden Volleyball Club in Switzerland. In the latter position, he helped four of his players earn college scholarships. After moving back to the United States, Ken Murczek served as head coach of Cuyamaca College in California and Saint Joseph’s College in Indiana.

In the years that followed, Mr. Murczek worked as an assistant coach at Western Michigan University, the University of Virginia, and the University of Kansas. Responsible for recruiting and training players, including several All-Conference players, he helped increase the rankings of the teams he coached.

In 2010, Ken Murczek became the head coach of the University of North Texas volleyball team. He led the team to 63 wins in three years, including two Sun Belt West division championships. The team reached the conference championship semifinals in 2010 and 2011, and the finals in 2012.

In 2013, Ken Murczek moved to North Carolina to serve as head coach at Wake Forest University, where he led the women’s volleyball team to 44 wins in three years. Since July 2016, he has served as head coach of the University of Charleston men’s volleyball team.
