Kenneth Basnight

With more than 30 years of business leadership experience, Kenneth Basnight is the president of the Chesapeake, Virginia-based Basnight Land and Lawn. He founded the company in 1985 while still in high school and has overseen its growth into one of the top commercial and residential landscaping companies in the United States. Basnight Land and Lawn is consistently ranked by Landscape Management Magazine as one of the country's top 100 outdoor contracting companies. Under the guidance of Kenneth (Kent) Basnight, the company has received dozens of awards and distinctions from Virginia Pilot in categories such as Best Landscape, Best Curb Appeal, and Best Outdoor Lighting Services.

Kent Basnight also owns Tidewater Mulch and Material, where customers can select from a wide variety of garden equipment and materials. He also manages Historic Greenbrier Farms, which hosts community events and boasts a diverse selection of "you pick" fruit and vegetable fields.

Mr. Basnight holds membership in professional organizations such as the National Association of Landscape Professionals and the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association. His hobbies include golf, beach volleyball, and boating.
