Kenneth Franklyn (born 15th May 1963) is an Orthopedic Surgeon currently serving (since August 2018) as the Medical Director in the Special Operations Surgical Team under the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Franklyn was born in Waterbury, Connecticut to a prominent family, His father was a Engineer and his Mother (Italian descent) was a successful business woman. In 1975 he completed his High School from Staple High School in Westport CT, He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut at Storrs and received his MD degree from Georgetown University. He completed five years of Orthopedic Training Residency at the University of Pennsylvania

CAREER

Dr. Franklyn was the Division Head of Orthopedic Surgery at Burgdorf Health University Connecticut, He is currently working in Afghanistan under the United Nations Authority as the Medical Director of Special Operations Surgical Medical Team and Paramedics Medical Emergency Response Team.

PERSONAL LIFE

Franklyn was born in Connecticut, He is the only child of his parents, he lost his father (Engr. Allen Kenneth) at the age of 11 years, Franklyn grew up with is mother in Connecticut whom passed away after her long suffering from paralysis from the shock of her husbands death. Franklyn was married to Helena Travis a Chattered Account and they had one daughter. She died during the process of giving birth to their second child
