Kenneth Kam

Kam Ka Him Kenneth started learning guitar at age eight with Mr. Kam Siu Tong, John. During his young age, he won consecutively at Hong Kong Schools Music Festival in guitar solo as well as ensemble section. Recently, Kenneth graduated from the Music Department of the Hong Kong Baptist University earning the degree Bachelor (Hon.) of Arts in Music where he studied under Mr. Au Man Bun. Kenneth is also the recipient of LRSM in Guitar Performance, AMusTCL in Music Theory and grade 8 certificate in Piano.

In September 2013, Kenneth was granted a scholarship for his graduate studies with Professor Bruce Holzman at the Florida State University. In May 2015, Kenneth completed his music performance master degree. He also studied with Pepe Romero, Manuel Barrueco, Pavel Steidl, Alvaro Pierri and Craig Ogden in their masterclasses. During his time in Florida, Kenneth had a rare recording opportunity with award winning CD producer and engineer, John Hadden.

As an active performer in different aspects, Kenneth has been heard not only in Hong Kong but also in Beijing, Malaysia and Europe. In 2010, Kenneth was the continuo player at the opera performance in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas in the Central Conservatory of Music (Beijing). In 2011, He was the feature soloist at the Joint ensemble concert with the Hong Kong Guitar Ensemble and The German Youth Guitar Orchestra. In 2012, Kenneth travelled with the Collegium Musicum Hong Kong to Germany, Austria and Czech Republic to give performances as a continuo player. In 2015, Kenneth went to Czech Republic to perform with the Hong Kong Guitar Ensemble. In July 2015, he performed the piece “Concertino”, written by Jan Bartlema, together with the composer and the Hong Kong Guitar Ensemble. In August 2015, Kenneth gave his public solo concert in recital hall, Hong Kong City Hall. Currently, Kenneth is a member of the Hong Kong Guitar Ensemble.
