Kenneth Orr

A respected financier with nearly two decades of experience in the field, Kenneth Orr attended Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, graduating magna cum laude in 1988. After graduation, his interests took a different turn, and Mr. Orr entered into the financial sector, where he would forge a long and successful career. In 1988, Kenneth Orr joined a family-owned commodities trading firm called North American Agriculture Inc., assuming the role of Vice President responsible for mergers and acquisitions. During his tenure, which lasted five years, the company’s sales increased by 600 percent and the staff grew to 320 employees. In 1993, Mr. Orr sold his interest in the company and established his own investment bank with branches in Los Angeles and New York. As Chief Executive Officer, he oversaw operations involving 350 employees and more than 15,000 clients. Upon his departure from the investment bank in 1997, Kenneth Orr founded his current venture, Triumph Small Cap Fund, Inc., a firm that invests in small to medium-sized public and private companies that show promise in the fields of gas, oil, biotech, and health care. Mr. Orr involves himself in every facet of the company, contributing to all large investment decisions, conducting due diligence, and meeting with management of prospective companies to determine their investment worth. Mr. Orr’s portfolio of successful early-stage investments include companies such as RentWay, which sold to Rent-A-Center for more than $500 million, and IVAX Corporation, which sold for $7.4 billion to Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. In 1999, Mr. Orr received the Albert Einstein Award for Outstanding Achievement in the High Tech, which recognizes leaders in the advancement of emerging technology. A prominent figure in his community, Kenneth Orr acts as an Alumni Prospective Student Interviewer for Tufts University and sits on the board of organizations such as the North Shore-LIJ Health System New Leadership Division and Aish HaTorah. In 2004, Mr. Orr and his wife, Cori, created the Orr Foundation, which endows local, national, and international charities with millions of dollars to fight causes including autism, cancer, domestic violence, and racial and religious prejudice.
