Dr. Kenneth Pettine has dedicated his life to orthopedics and stem cell research. He trademarked the phrase, “Friends don’t let friends get fused,” and his mission statement is: “I am passionate to change the practice of orthopedics and spine with stem cell therapy.” Dr. Pettine has been named one of the top 50 Spine and Specialists Surgeons to Know in America and is the author of more than 30 research publications. He worked as an orthopedic surgeon for 31 years before retiring. He worked as the Staff Orthopedic Surgeon and Director of Resident Research as the Eisenhower Army Medical Center, the Associate Clinical Professor at the Medical College of Georgia, and as the Past Orthopedic Consultant to the FDA. Recently retired from orthopedic surgery, he now dedicates his passion to stem cell research and therapy.

Dr. Pettine has been the principal investigator for 18 FDA clinical trials involving stem cells and has issued the only two U.S. patents for stem cell joint and spine injections. He has years of experience in spinal surgery, research, and rehabilitation. He is a distinguished speaker and has participated in over 70 national and international symposiums. He is a professional member of many national and international organizations, including the International College of Surgeons Fellow and North American Spine Society. He has co-founded the Rocky Mountain Associates in Orthopedic Medicine, the Society for Ambulatory Spine Surgery, and is the founder of the Orthopedic Stem Cell Institute and the Premier Stem Cell Institute.

In 1976, Dr. Pettine graduated with honors from Colorado College and in 1981 he received his medical degree from University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he also graduated with honors. While completing his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic, he also completed a Master’s Degree in Orthopedic Biomechanics at the University of Minnesota. In 1991, he finished his spine fellowship at the Institute for Low Back Care. He has his medical license in Colorado and in Wyoming.
