Student, Musician, and Teacher in Marikina City

I am Ken Raneses, a 23-year-old student at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music studying Bachelor of Music in Music Education, Emphasis on Voice under the tutelage of Dr. Ronan H. Ferrer, DMA.

“Experience is the best teacher.”That was my moto when I was started playing the guitar. I personally do not have proper guitar lessons. My teacher was myself, and my brothers. I just joined many group for me learn more. I joined the worship team of the organization that I was in, I volunteer to play if our guitarist is absent in the mass, and I do not miss opportunities whenever I have a chance to play.

As part of a family of teachers, I have always loved teaching music. I am a free-lance teacher for over 5 years now. I teach guitar of all ages in the beginner level. I also have a chance teaching choir groups

My goal as a teacher, is not for my students to learn how to play guitar. I teach my students how to teach. I can say that my way of teaching is different. I teach the student the basics, fundamentals, basic techniques, but I focus on the outcome that at the end of the teaching session, the student can also teach guitar to other people. Because my moto is “Do not just learn how to play, but learn how to teach.”
