Kenn Santos

Born and raised in New Jersey, Puerto Rican resident Kenn Santos has lived a bi-lingual life and through Carlito Coqui: the journey is passing on the value of a multi-lingual existence to his readers. Puerto Rico is a unique bi-lingual island, with a singular history and culture. The coqui tree frog is the perfect embodiment of the island’s complex identity. It is represented in ancient stone carvings etched by indigenous Taino Indians and is a species unique to Puerto Rico. An author and multi-media artist living in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Kenn has combined his knowledge of island culture and history with his skill as a graphic artist to achieve a modern and engaging take on books for children. The story of Carlito Coqui: the journey presents not only Puerto Rican cultural themes in a bi-lingual context, but also the universal themes of perseverance, positive personal identity, social acceptance, and the importance of friends and family. Follow Carlito’s whirlwind adventure as he encounters his biggest challenge, meets new friends, struggles to make his way back home and finds his own voice. Kenn Santos lives at Whiteflower with his beautiful wife Jenny and is the proud parent of two children. Que Es Graphics was started back in Texas as a freelance company, moving to Puerto Rico in the spring of 1994. Seeing the need for graphic design that was both functional and engaging on the eastern end of the island, QE was reestablished and quickly became recognized as the only studio that offered a wide variety of medium and expressive styles to fulfill commercial and residential needs. Our goal is to provide a custom product with a uniquely creative touch.
