Kenny Stein

I began creating stencil art in 2003. This was inspired by a love for the artistic potential of cardboard and cardstock, combined with an interest in how the human brain can recognize images using a minimum of visual cues.

My first works were primarily one layer stencils, and although I have moved on to two, three, and four layers, I continue to create single layer stencils which are the type that best demonstrate the magic of high contrast between shadow and light.

Initially my stencils were presented as non-commissioned street art, but I currently prefer to opt for lower-risk venues. All of my stencils are hand-cut and spray painted.
