Basketball Skill Enhancement Trainer in Dayton, Ohio
Basketball has had the greatest impact on my life besides my relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Before I knew Him basketball was my god, I was not the most talented player but I remember a coach telling me that, “Hard work beats out talent when talent is not working hard” but hard work alone is not enough. That drove me to be the best I could be at basketball, and the hard work paid off.
Although I had done some coaching prior to 2008 that is when I started doing basketball skill development programs. It all began when my son started playing rec basketball two years prior in the Spring Ford Youth Athletic League (SFYAL) and did not learn a thing from the coaches. My son was not the only one not learning anything but the majority of the other 180 boys that played in the league (the school had over 700 kids in the seventh grade). I realized that I could not help all the kids but I could coach and help at least the ten that would be on my team.
I remember telling the parents not to judge the team on wins and losses but on the drastic improvement they would see in their child by the end of the season (I am sure that many of them thought to themselves sure, how many times have I heard that). Week after week we improved but could not seem to get a win. I kept encouraging the boys letting them know that every team makes the playoffs in this league and we could redeem ourselves then if we just worked hard. Our regular season ended with some very close games which gave us some momentum and confidence going into the playoffs. You know the rest of the story, we won the championship.
I help athletes develop their basketball skills teaching the fundamentals of ball handling, passing, shooting and footwork. I give my clients what I wish I had as a player in order for them to become the best players that they can be and take their game to the next level. No matter where you are skill wise, I can help you become a better basketball player.
