Kent Strunk is an established attorney and trial lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in criminal defense. Kent graduated from the Northern Illinois College of Law in 1998 and chose to enter criminal defense immediately. Early on, he became known for his courtroom focus. His work led to recognition from the Minnesota Public Defenders Office, which acknowledged him for having the highest number of jury trials in the 9th Judicial District for three consecutive years. Community involvement has remained important to him throughout his life. He has supported the United Way, including serving as a disbursement judge, and has been a donor and supporter of the Boys and Girls Club. His efforts often include mentoring and assisting organizations during busy periods.
Family is a central part of his identity. Kent married in 2000, and he and his spouse have four children. Their eldest, born in 2001, appeared in a book featuring newborns and later completed studies at the University of Minnesota before pursuing graduate education. Their second child, born in 2003, earned a degree in Archaeology and plans to continue in graduate school. The twins, born in 2006, attend the University of Minnesota, with one studying management and the other active in theater.
He has long been the primary caregiver, staying involved in their education and activities. One tradition he values is taking each child to a Minnesota Twins game every year since the child was born. He continues to live in Minnesota with his family and their yellow Labrador, Annie. Today, Kent Strunk remains dedicated to his work, his community, and his family.
