I live in Seattle and currently have a role that's about understanding and driving up satisfaction of people using our productivity applications experiences. Trying to get work done on the go, in an office, with other people, in other ways? What works for you and what would make things better for you?

Reading books relevant to the tech industry or to cognitive science such as The Lean Startup, Creativity Inc. and Thinking Fast and Slow provide me with insights for how to work better and smarter. But so does reading about historical figures such as Julius Caesar, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses Grant, or Napoleon, as they provide timeless lessons about hard and soft leadership skills that can still be applied today.

Ta-Nehisi Coates got a well-deserved MacArthur "genius grant" and for good reason. Check out 'Between the World and Me.'
